On Catch-22

Written by Joseph Heller and published in 1961, Catch-22 is a fictional sweet following American bombardier John Yossarian. Yossarian is stati iodined on the island of Pianosa, off the west coast of Italy, during World War Two. The first such instance is when Yossarian wishes to be sent home, so he tells the group doctor, Doc Daneeka, that he is wan and must be grounded. Daneeka responds by citing Catch-22, which states that Concern for virtuosos safety in the face o f real, immediate hazard is the process of a rational mind, so anyone claiming to be loony in order to be grounded must really be sane. Furtherto a greater extent, anyone willing to put themselves in danger by firm missions has to be crazy, but they cannot be taken off of trash duty until they ask.
